Michael’s Favorite Easy Elk Chili

A good bowl of chili can warm the soul. It’s even better when it’s simple to make. Whether you’re headed to a tailgate, need an easy dinner at deer camp, or are ready to warm up after a long sit in the stand, this easy Elk Chili recipe is the perfect solution.

The Recipe

  • 2 can of Diced Tomato
  • 1 can of Rotel
  • 2 small cans of Mushrooms
  • 1 can Black Beans
  • 1 packet of Chili Seasoning
  • 1 ½ – 2 lbs Elk Burger
  • 2 Yellow Onions

Brown the elk in bacon grease to add some extra flavor. Season with cajun seasoning to your taste. Once browned, drain off any excess oil. Add in diced yellow onion and continue to cook until soft. Add meat and onions to large soup pot. Add 1 can of Rotel, 2 cans of diced tomatos, 2 cans of mushrooms, and can of black beans. Stir together, add chili seasoning, and bring to a simmer until warmed through.

Serve over rice, with cornbread, or however you like!

Simple, easy, and delicious.
